Sunshowers 03:53
SUNSHOWERS  (c) 2006 Nadeah Miranda Sunshowers fall upon my eyes telling me I need no disguise oh thunder will come and stay a while but I know I'm coming home to you Sunshowers beat against my heart Saying, "you must not all apart" Echoes of madness they try to bite but I know I’m coming home to you When the days just drag me along and I'm writing 3 chord nursery rhyming songs and the nights draw on ‘till I cant carry on then I know, im coming home to you then I know I'm coming home to you...... Sunshowers bleed into my tears Telling me not to heed my fears  So I wash the mascara right from my ears ‘Cause I know I’m coming home to you Yeah I know, I'm coming home to you Who knows what where how why or when? Who knows why your'e even still my friend Maybe it’s because you love me now and then? I don't know but I'm coming home to you I dont know but I'm coming home to you

LIKE YOU DO (c)2003 Nadeah Miranda, Benjamin Menuteau You say you’ve seen 11 wonders I wish I saw them too and If you say the sky is blue I’ll run away with you If you say my heart is black I know you’ve been there too Cause my heart only knows I’m breathing when I'm inside of you Like you do like you do like you do like you do Empty hearts and empty visions from MTV to you And I fall into retrovision because I’m just like you Bury me in broken armour, bury me in shame If knowledge is the path to freedom I’d rather stay enslaved Like you do Like you do like you do like you do But my heart beats the song of Jesus it beats inside of you and you’re not beaten ‘till I am beaten because I speak the truth And if you know the way to my heart you’re coming close to you 'Cause my heart only knows I’m breathing when I’m inside of you Like you do Like you do Like you do Like you do I dreamt of an empty planet Except for me and you And I don’t wanna know what all the prophesies claim to be true One more error, one more terror, one more man shall lie One hundred fragments of sweet heaven I’m not afraid to die I’m not afraid to die I’m not afraid to die I’m not afraid to die For you For you For you Like you Do

SONG I JUST WROTE (c) 2006 Nadeah Miranda Got me a prescription for perfect living
But I lost it on the breeze
So I ran down to the crossroads, winter stinging
And I tried my very best just to breathe

Now I know it's not the way
That it was meant to be
But right now I don't think I can see
Would you lend me your eyes for a little while
So I might remember how to smile?

Got me a friend named Peg she taught me knitting
Gonna knit me a new man
And even though, I don't know his perfect fitting
 Well I'm sure he'll understand

Now I know it's not the way
That it was meant to be
But right now I don't think I can see
Would you lend me your eyes for a little while
So I might remember how to smile?

Does everybody feel like this sometimes?
Where every word they say, sounds like recycled rhymes
? Contrived and out of date, it's nothing new
But it's all I got, to say to you

I stare at the right side of my double bed
Books and medicines instead of you
And you know, yeah you know
Cannon balls hit hard when you're not sleeping
And time takes time it's true

Now I know it's not the way
That it was meant to be
But right now I don't think can see
So would you lend me your eyes for a little while
So I might remember how to be

about

2006: After a rather large misunderstanding between myself and the UK immigration, I lost my UK residency.
I moved to the closest port, Paris, but with limited French I was daunted by the prospect of getting a job or building anything like we'd built with the loveGods. I was near breaking point when one of my favourite humans, Mamma Darcy, and her husband Peter invited me to stay in Waxhaw, North Carolina.
They welcomed me with wide arm and smiles and expected me to convalesce. As for yours truly, I couldn't fathom the concept of "chillin" so I booked myself weekly shows at a little venue up the road, the Crossroads Cafe. I landed the gig when a very kind 17 year old Zac Robins let me steal his mic for a few songs during one of his shows.

Anyway, it worked out well: they asked which day I wanted, I said Fridays and that was that.

I don"t remember exactly how the session came about, only that it was a hot August Monday and that Zac was keen to try out some new recording equipment. I was keen to record the song I had written the day before the session, appropriately titled, SONG I JUST WROTE, so we hit it off marvellously.

The result was this EP which contains an acoustic version of STAND as well as the first ever recordings of SONG I JUST WROTE and SCARY CAROL.

It's one of my most loved sessions. Super easy - most songs were one take. It was a stifling afternoon so we left the doors wide open and I am pretty sure you can hear the Carolina Songbirds in the distance. xx

XX enjoy : )
